T Ways For Teens To Make Money
With the economy the way it is, there are many parents looking for ways for their teens to make money, so they can contribute and pay for some of their own way. It’s not only a good idea economy-wise for teens to make their own money, but it also has other benefits. It will help build their self-esteem in a healthy way as well as teach them responsibility and the value of money.
If you are looking for ways for your teens to make some money, look at what they do well and their interests. Are they good with working with kids? Do they write well? Are they a good cook? Do they have a passion for helping others? Are they a sports fan?
You want to focus on what they like to do and what is important to them, as well as incorporate their talents and gifts, especially if they are building a business. If they have no interest in the subject, they will find it extremely challenging to stick with it.
Building a business is one way for a teen to make money. It is also a way that can serve them for a long time if they choose something that is sought after by others. Let’s look at some ways they could build a business.
Offer a Service
Your teens could offer a service such as babysitting, pet sitting, dog walking, running errands or teaching music lessons.
Sell A Product
Your teens could become a distributor or consultant for a direct sales type company and sell their products. Again, make sure it is a product they are interested in and believe in, and preferably, use themselves. It will make it so much easier for them to genuinely promote the products. I suggest that you, the parents, check into the company’s history to ensure they are running a reputable and profitable business.
Sell On Ebay
A popular option for teens is to sell on Ebay. Ebay is a worldwide marketplace, so they won’t have to market their business as much as they would another one. They can go to garage sales and flea markets and pick up items that are selling. If they really get involved with the business, they can also purchase items from wholesalers and resell them at a higher price. This will take some research on their part, to determine what sells and for how much. But it is a great way for them to learn some practical research skills.
When looking for ways for teens to make money, start with their own interests and talents. Then see what they could offer that others are looking for and willing to pay for. You’ll be teaching them valuable life lessons along with the ability to make some money.
